This Privacy Policy explains how Gocuba LLC ("we", "us") handles information in the CheckEngine mobile app and on this website.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. The app may process: vehicle information you enter (such as VIN, make, model, year), questions you submit to our AI assistant, and approximate location only when you use the "Find a mechanic" feature. We do not require you to create an account or provide your name to use core features.
2. How We Use Information
To provide app features: decoding vehicle info, generating explanations and estimates, finding nearby mechanics, and improving the app. Vehicle and question data is sent to our service providers solely to generate your results.
3. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third parties to deliver features, including: AI processing (Anthropic), vehicle data providers, mapping/location services (Google), and advertising (Google AdMob). These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Ads may use a device advertising identifier.
4. Advertising
The free version of the app may show ads, including rewarded video ads, provided by Google AdMob. Advertising partners may collect a device identifier to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
5. Purchases
Some features (such as detailed vehicle history reports) and an optional premium subscription are available as in-app purchases processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
6. Data Retention
We do not maintain user accounts and do not retain your entered vehicle data longer than needed to generate your results.
7. Children's Privacy
CheckEngine is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Choices
You can control location and advertising permissions in your device settings at any time.

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with an updated date.
